Helen Grace
Meet Helen, our incredible talent behind the scenes at Rachel’s Custom Sewing! Helen’s passion for sewing has been a lifelong journey, starting years ago in the wool industry in country Victoria, where she mastered the art of natural yarns and commercial knitting. Her expertise flourished as she transitioned to the Gold Coast, delving into resort wear and ladies' fashion.
Now, Helen’s talents are focused on deconstruction and advanced bridal and formal alterations, where she truly shines. Her creativity knows no bounds; she loves exploring slow stitching, repositioning lace appliqués, beading, and embroidery. When she’s not at RCS—where she ensures Rachel takes her lunch breaks and keeps the tea flowing—you can find her at home in a charming old church. Here, she crafts delightful fabric teapots and felt cakes to sell on MadeIt. With two grown children and a lovable border collie, Helen enjoys a creative space filled with pretty fabrics, crochet hooks, books, and coffee.
So next time you visit Rachel’s Custom Sewing, don’t miss the opportunity to say hello to Helen—whether she’s behind a machine or welcoming you at the door. She embodies the heart and soul of our studio!
